Optimistic Sydney Sweeney Looks Past "big paydays" for 'Euphoria' Season 3 with Sam Levinson
Euphoria Season 3 has made fans wait long enough. The third installment was delayed due to several reasons, starting with the infamous Hollywood strikes. For quite some time, no one, including the actors involved with the show, had the slightest clue as to when the third season would finally get off the ground. These delays have put a significant dent in the cast's finances, including the Euphoria darling, Sydney Sweeney.
It seems, however, that the show is too important for Sweeney not to look at the brighter side. Despite the numerous bumps in the road, the actress is still optimistic about the third installment.

One silver lining amid the seemingly endless delays for Euphoria Season 3 is the fact that the HBO show has not been shown the door. Earlier this month, it was announced that filming will began in January 2025, and the entire original cast will be coming back into the fold. A source recently told The Hollywood Reporter that despite missing out on some "big paydays", Sydney Sweeney is still eagerly "looking forward to going back" to the show and reuniting with Sam Levinson.
In a March interview with Josh Horowitz, Sydney Sweeney opened up about returning to Euphoria Season 3, saying, “It’s like home when I go back to it.” Her feelings about the HBO show are completely understandable, given that Euphoria catapulted her into the limelight, despite her having a solid list of acting credits before the show. However, there is one aspect that is still hinting at a further delay of the third season.
The upcoming season is set to take a major turn from its predecessors, which might be causing additional hiccups in the production schedule.

Earlier this year, TheWrap reported that Sam Levinson is shifting the storyline of Euphoria from high school to early adulthood in the third season. This change naturally requires a lot of reworking of narratives, which has already resulted in several “script issues,” according to the report. On top of that, it is also a bit of a gamble whether fans will embrace the new changes made to the show.
Euphoria has essentially been a teen drama. While aging up the characters might lower the risk factor concerning bold themes, there is a chance it could upset the show’s core. However, Sydney Sweeney hinted during the promotion of Immaculate to GQ, “people will be really amazed with what season three becomes.” Only time will tell whether the makers’ vision for the show’s future will strike a chord with the audience or if the delays will cause them to lose interest.
