‘Oppenheimer’s Family Member Makes One Major Criticism for the Christopher Nolan Film Starring Cillian Murphy
Christopher Nolan’s latest work of art, Oppenheimer, is a box office sensation. Starring Cillian Murphy as the lead actor in the film, the movie follows the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer. The film is based on the 2005 biography named American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The movie received a huge appreciation for its historic accuracy. But Charles Oppenheimer, the grandson of the Father of the Atomic Bomb, criticized it for a major inaccuracy.
Born in 1975, Charles had a fairly open environment while growing up. The family members did actually talk about his grandfather’s work around him. He was well-informed about his grandfather’s contributions and works during the Second World War. Thus, during a conversation with Times, Charles expressed his honest opinion regarding his view of the movie adaptation. Charles was not satisfied with one specific scene where the film sees the reference to the poison apple.

According to Charles, there was no record of his grandfather trying to kill anyone. Therefore, he did not agree with that specific scene. Referring to the original book, Charles also pointed out, there was no accuracy about this incident in the book as well. So, the historic repetition of the inaccurate information bothered the family member.
The 48-year-old family member added no one who heard about this when his grandfather was alive would confess it to be true. So, apart from this specific criticism, Charles praised the overall treatment of the subject and admired the beautiful work of Christopher Nolan. During this conversation, Charles admitted, Nolan assured him about the accuracy of the story of the American theoretical physicist.
