On Her 31st Birthday Selena Gomez Joins Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner in the Big Girls Billionaire Club
Selena Gomez is going from Barney & Friends to Billionaire and friends. The multifaceted talent may have started as an actress, but since then she has become a chart-topper on Billboard, a top producer for Netflix, and one of the most successful businesswomen. And with all these high-paying endeavors, it is quite shocking that she is not yet a part of the billionaires league. But if the third time is not a charm, then the 31st time is.
The ‘Who Says’ singer is set to make a debut in the Forbes billionaire list this year. Surprisingly, she is taking the Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian route. Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian both joined the top league through their makeup and beauty brands. The younger Jenner started her brand when she was only 17 and by the time she was 20, Kylie Cosmetics was worth $900 million.
It is unclear if Selena Gomez read the same four-year guide to becoming a billionaire as Kylie Jenner, but she too has raised her makeup brand’s worth to $900 million in four years.
What separates Gomez from the rest is that she has 100% ownership of her brand. Unlike most makeup brands that sell much of their company’s stakes to reap benefits. For instance, Kylie Jenner has only 44% ownership of Kylie Cosmetics while Kim Kardashian owns only 35% stakes in SKIMS. Although not one right now, the end of the year may find Selena Gomez higher on the billionaire list than the reality TV stars.

If Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty continues its successful run as it sells out globally, then it may just be the bridge that takes Gomez to the billionaire club. Although it will be a huge milestone, the ‘Rare’ singer was focused on creating an impact rather than a sweet spot in the billionaires league since the beginning.
Since her product continues to raise the bar in standard while maintaining moderate prices, she has just hit two birds with one stone. If Rare Beauty fulfills the estimate of $300 million earnings this year, Selena Gomez will be among the 1% of the global population that owns a trillion of the world’s wealth. Emmy just missed out on Selena Gomez, but Forbes will not.
