In an interview with GQ, Danny DeVito completely ruled out the possibility of working in Twins 2 with the 76-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger. According to DeVito, they have a “little project” on the horizon, and it is distinct from Twins and is centered on two friends who “have a good time” together. Talking about Twins 2, he joked about how The Terminator legend skipped the American comedy film because he wanted to be governor of California in 2003. He further said that he should have done the movie instead of “becoming governor.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s humorous and acerbic side was first seen in the 1988 film Twins. The actor received the largest paycheck of his career for this project, which is expected to be about $35 million. In an interview with a Hollywood reporter in 2022, the actor stated that “Jason Reitman f***ed it up” with the film Twins 2. He also stated that his father, Ivan Reitman, was always in favor of shooting the picture. However, when his father died, Jason canceled the plan right away.

Further, the actors are looking forward to recreating the magic of the 1987 American crime comedy film Throw Momma from the Train on the screen with its sequel, Throw Papa from the Train. This has further been confirmed by a representative of Crystal told Entertainment Weekly saying “it’s true” and the long-time pals are “still working on it.” Aside from that, DeVito has a soft spot in his heart for this film.

The crime comedy was DeVito’s theatrical directorial debut. Further, it was based on Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller Stranger’s on Train, released in 1951. The plot of the movie revolves around two men, Larry Donner and Owen Lift. One wants his ex-wife dead, and the other wants his mother out of the picture. Although the movie received mixed reactions from critics, it went on to be a commercial success. Further, it also bagged an Oscar nomination for supporting actress Anne Ramsey.
