Meghan Markle has reportedly ruffled the feathers of one of her Montecito, California neighbors. According to a report by Daily Mail, Richard Mineards, who lives close to the Duchess of Sussex, expressed his disappointment, stating "I personally don't think that Meghan is an asset to our community." He criticized Markle's lack of community involvement.
The locality resident further revealed to the outlet that the mother of two does not often venture out or participate in local events. His comments suggested that Markle's private nature has created a sense of distance between her and the residents. Despite being a high-profile figure, Markle's low-key presence has not won over everyone in her adopted community.
However, this was not the first case of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's neighbors expressing disappointment over their lack of community involvement.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been turning a deaf ear since last year
Last year, author and neighbor Patrick McGinity shared a similar experience, claiming he was turned away by a man at the gate when trying to deliver a film CD. McGinity stated, "They're not interested." The response triggered the high-profile American estate to question the royals' involvement in their community. McGinity's account echoed Richard Mineards' recent comments, suggesting a pattern of detachment from the local community.

McGinity described the area as a retirement haven, saying, "It's where the elephants come to die." He also mentioned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's property is the old McCormick estate, where he attempted to deliver the film but went in vain. Although the neighbors' row has not been exclusively addressed by them, Prince Harry surely has turned his back on the trolls and critiques.
