Foreshadowing what was going to be a major theme in the movie, the 42-year-old expresses his dismay at the fact that “nobody plays with the Kens” the way they do with Barbies. Adorably relating to his character from the movie, he says that a lot of Kens will feel seen through this movie. And giving voice to the pain of his character, he even sang the iconic track “I’m Just Ken”.

When asked about his first impressions of his wardrobe and avatar in Barbie, Gosling says “Finally its happening..I feel seen.” Now, having seen the movie ourselves, we can honestly say that he captured the essence of Ken’s emotional roller-coasters spectacularly. Maybe it was because a small part of him related to Ken, as he expressed in the interview.
