Will Smith's Oscar slap may have been the biggest smackdown since Mike Tyson's boxing days, but it did not quite pack the same punch when it came to his fan base. Despite the drama, Smith's devotees are still riding hard for the Bad Boys star, proving that a slap, can not keep them from rooting for their guy. And with the release of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, it is clear that Smith's fans are ready to put the controversy in the rearview mirror and get back to what really matters: watching him kick butt and take names on the big screen.

In a shocking turn of events, the man of the moment, Will Smith, happened to go incognito and blend in with a theater crowd during a live screening of Bad Boys: Ride or Die. A few moments after the film was over, fans went wild as Will Smith hopped into the packed theater crowd and revealed he was watching alongside them the entire time. A user took to X to mark the celebrations, claiming how the overwhelming crowd speaks for itself.

It seems as if the Bad Boys icon's charm and charisma have proven stronger than any public relations nightmare. With the release of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Smith's fan base has come out swinging in support of their beloved star.

Fans have sorted out the Will Smith Oscar debacle once and for all

The Bad Boys success has distanced Will Smith from his biggest controversy. Replying to the same, a user confirmed how the majority of them never really cared about it from the very beginning. Another carried forward the streak saying what happened at the Oscars night was “hilarious and deserved”. One of the lot also claimed that if Smith were to be addressed by the slap at all, he “should have been publicly thanked”.

Another user remarked how if anything, the incident served as a fabulous example showing people deliberately trying to set a narrative without a cause.

By the reactions, it looks pretty one-sided. Smith's career has survived the slapgate scandal, after all. Bad Boys: Ride Or Die's marvellous success at the Box office debut and Rotten Tomatoes have also spoken in his favor. And even if all else fails, he can always try his hand at professional wrestling.
