No Sign of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as Kate Middleton and Prince William Pay Tribute to Queen Elizabeth
As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry distanced themselves from the royal household, the rifts between the two became stronger. But the tragic passing of Queen Elizabeth briefly brought them back together in September last year. Although their presence at her funeral led to more drama unfolding, this duty was paramount to the couple. One year later, the former Queen’s anniversary arrived, but the Sussexes were nowhere to be seen.
In the absence of his brother- and sister-in-law, Prince William has carried on his plans for the day alongside Kate Middleton. The duo embarked on an unexpected journey to a rather special place.

As reported by People, the Prince and Princess of Wales traveled to a quaint Welsh town to participate in an intimate ceremony at St. David’s Cathedral. Since it holds the distinction of being the sole British cathedral where the monarch was accorded a unique seat in the Quire and was graced by Queen Elizabeth on four separate occasions, their tribute is made all the more special.
Besides being a special pilgrimage spot, the Prince and Princess could have chosen the town to avoid Prince Harry who is supposed to be in London. Earlier, it was rumored that the Duke of Sussex would visit London for his grandmother’s ceremony.
Considering the amount of tussles the brothers have engaged in already, being in separate countries might have been the best way to go. As for Meghan Markle, the anniversary may not warrant the need to fly to the UK.

While Prince Harry just might appear in London soon, it is highly unlikely that Meghan Markle will be joining him. Firstly, her estranged relationship with her husband’s family is no secret. Secondly, the harsh comments from the royal butler about how he expects the Sussexes to behave at the ceremony probably did not help the matter of reuniting the family for the event.
But Kate Middleton and Prince William’s actions ought to make up for the younger members’ absence. As he and the princess decisively take charge of their senior roles, not many will blame Meghan Markle for abstaining from engaging with them.
