Stranger Things 4 became Netflix’s most widely viewed show upon its arrival last year. After waiting for three years, fans rushed to the streamer to binge-watch their beloved characters. This huge break between seasons 3 and 4 reminded people how much the actors grew up. Not only in the sense of age or height, but in their ability to portray their characters. Especially, Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, and Joseph Quinn shined out this season for the way they struggled for their lives.

Unfortunately, even after winning millions of hearts on the screen, these major actors are not listed on Emmy this year. Can you guess the reason?

In an exclusive report by Variety, it is revealed that Netflix cannot submit most of the categories of Emmy for Stranger Things. This is the second bad news fans have received after Duffer Brothers announced the halt to season 5 production. During the eligibility period for this year’s awards, the streamer launched volume 2 of season 4. In the wake of new guidelines, volume 2 is tagged as an “orphan” because it only includes two episodes. While the committee says that a standard season should at least have six episodes. Thus, the supernatural horror drama cannot make it to the list.

The only category they can enter is the guest actor in a drama series. So Dacre Montgomery, who played the role of Max’s elder stepbrother, will get nominated. The viewers know that the character sacrificed himself in the Battle of Starcourt to save Eleven. However, the actor reappeared in The Piggyback episode when Max went into a trance.

Not to mention, this won’t be an easy call for him considering the names he will be competing with, including Nick Offerman, James Cromwell, and Bryan Cranston. Meanwhile, the show might have failed to gather more Emmys this year, but it did a great job last year.

How many awards did this Netflix gem win last year?

After the wild success of season 4, Duffer Brothers brought 13 nominations for the Emmy 2022. Out of these, the show won five for stunt coordination, sound editing (one hour), sound mixing (one hour), prosthetic makeup, and music supervision.
