Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been quite in the hype for their back-to-back endeavors. Be it charity events, or their film shoots for Netflix’s 100 million dollar deals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have gone hand in hand, come what may. However, when it comes to rendering off duties in the United Kingdom, the estranged royal Prince finds himself in isolation. While ties with the Royal family and nowhere near a truce, wife Meghan Markle rarely prefers accompanying the Prince across the sea. 

This time too, the Duke is all set to kick-start his 2024 Invictus journey in home ground UK. However, the attendance of his family, both immediate or estranged, is unlikely. 

As reported by the Daily Mail, the royal military veteran will be landing in the UK next month, before getting off for a trip to Nigeria with Markle. In his trip to Britain, which is said to last for just a week, it is unclear if his wife will accompany him. For his reading at St Paul's Cathedral in London on May 8, for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, the Duke, thus, might have to take on the duties alone. 

As for the senior royals from Buckingham and Kensington, no palace announcements or Sussex spokespersons have given any updates about a meeting. Although this is the first time the Duke will be on home soil after the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis, no official records of any meetings with King Charles or Prince William have been in motion, either.

While the Duchess would not be returning to the UK, she is, however, confirmed to accompany him for Nigeria. 

As reported the previous day, the couple is all set to embark on their first unofficial royal tour to Nigeria, after the Duke returns from the UK. Local newspapers in the African country have expressed immense delight in welcoming the couple next month. The authorities claimed it would be their “honor” to have them both on Nigerian soil. 

Markle, who is of Nigerian descent, had accepted the invitation, claimed the outlets. The country also holds importance for Prince Harry, as it became the newest country to compete in the Düsseldorf Invictus Games, last year. One of the primary agendas of visiting Nigeria would also be discussing the Invictus Games, details of which have not been revealed any further.
