No Henry Cavill, No Problem- James Gunn’s 'Superman' Has Rob Liefeld Swooning Over David Corenswet’s DC Debut
While it seemed like time had stopped for DC and its fans as Henry Cavill hung his adored Superman costume, static is not a state that suits a superhero fandom for long. Therefore, with the coming of James Gunn and, more importantly, his new wave of creative ideas, it was only a short while before things started to look chirpy again. And if they have not so far, with Rob Liefeld crossing over to Gunn's side, the rest are soon to follow.
Despite having his priorities on the Marvel front, Rob Liefeld is nothing if not a comic fanatic at heart. This comic fanatic has become the loudest supporter of James Gunn's Superman as it approaches closer.

The uproar that Henry Cavill's Superman retirement had caused could have easily translated to a shift of the tectonic plates had fans collectively gathered in one place. This further grew worse as James Gunn brought in David Corenswet, a very Henry Cavill-esque actor, to play a younger Superman. Despite all of Gunn's assurance, it was not until Rob Liefeld's shower of praises that things started looking up. Liefeld took to X, to relay how "psyched" he was for Gunn's Superman curtsy of "great things" that he had been hearing.
While it is difficult to tell what news it was Rob Liefeld in his inner comic elite circle had gotten a whiff of but that it was big enough for him to take to his X account and express his excitement is a good sign. Now with Liefeld, himself having completed the journey from nostalgia over Cavill to excitement for Corenswet, it would not be long before more DC fans follow.
Rob Liefeld's excitement over the new Superman may be loud, but his masterpiece's discontent over the treatment of Henry Cavill was louder.

What DC could not do in years, Marvel did in a matter of minutes as Henry Cavill became a part of a blockbuster extravaganza with his Deadpool & Wolverine cameo. While Cavill's Cavill-rine avatar was one thing, the cherry on top was definitely the not-so-subtle dig by Deadpool over his treatment down at DC. It seems that both the mind behind the character and the character himself cannot help but be loud when it comes to their opinions.
Deadpool did not hold back as he asked the former Superman actor to join his "team," which, unfortunately for fans who got excited, was not a hint of Cavill joining Marvel. Not long after the minute of glory had passed on screen, fans began to argue over why Cavill-rine was simply not it. Now away from both the superhero studios, the audiences hope Henry Cavill finds his light in the Highlander reboot.
