Back in the 90s, it was raining sitcoms. Throughout the entire decade, some iconic TV shows made their way to our screens. However, none of them dominated and ruled TV like Friends. Debuted in 1994, the NBC sitcom took the world by storm, becoming one of the most enduring shows of its time. Owing to its humongous popularity, the sitcom became a staple in the 1990s pop culture and remains a mainstay in the 21st century. However, while its legacy was incredible, it was not unmatchable.

An incredibly popular show recently made its comeback to TV, and it is by far the superior sitcom from the 90s.

There is no denying the fact that the 90s were far superior in terms of sitcoms. Even today, fans reminisce about the ‘golden era of TV shows’ talking about sitcoms like Friends. However, Frasier which recently returned to TV in a new version, is a far more superior series, and there is ample evidence for it. For starters, one element of the show that gave it an edge over other sitcoms was its bumper music. Dr. Frasier Crane’s ‘I’m Listening’ was far more entertaining than Courtney Cox’s booming voice in Friends or the jingle sound in Seinfield

Apart from that, Frasier easily topped Friends and Senfield in terms of award nominations and accolades. Undeniably, each of these sitcoms dominated the award shows back in the day. While Friends grabbed 62 nominations and won 6 out of them, Seinfield earned 68 nominations, winning 10. Meanwhile, Frasier was clear of both the shows in this aspect. The Kelsey Grammer starrer won a whooping 37 Emmy awards out of 107 nominations. In addition to that, the lead cast of Frasier, Kelsey Grammer, and David Hyde Peirce took four Emmys each.
