Nicholas Hoult Reveals the Weirdest Gift Robert Eggers Got Him From ‘Nosferatu’
With Christmas on the horizon, a slew of cinematic releases await a cutthroat festive competition, among which Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is spinning a high tide of anticipation. Although it is far from the typical holiday pills fans like to swallow, away from the warmth and festive ringers of the season, its materialization from the script to screen saw some familiar traditions like wrap-up gifts. However, Eggers played way out of the box, even with conventions, by presenting Nicholas Hoult with the most bizarre parting gift.
While Nosferatu is the antithesis of orthodox Christmas cheer, the keepsake Hoult got is a bigger curveball that drives a dagger through the heart of holiday or post-production gifting.

Nosferatu actors, Nicholas Hoult and Lily Depp-Rose recently sat down with ELLE for their Ask Me Anything segment ahead of the film’s release on Christmas Day. Among the many questions they were asked, a common one concerned the props or wardrobe items actors took from the set. Hoult did not stray elsewhere in his film resume to find the answers since his horror run got him “Count Orlok’s prosthetic p--is framed at home.”
Hoult recounts a scene where Bill Skarsgard sucks his blood in Nosferatu, and upon filming the scene, Robert Eggers asks the actor what it was like. Unaware of how his confession would pan out, Hoult unmindfully said he could literally “feel the prosthetic p--is” on his leg. Little did he know Eggers would frame it and send it to his home as a production wrap gift. However, the story does not end there.
In fact, Nicholas Hoult continued the saga with an even weirder plot twist.
More about Robert Eggers’ most baffling gift for Nicholas Hoult from Nosferatu
In his conversation on ELLE’s Ask Me Anything alongside Nosferatu star Lily Depp-Rose, Nicholas Hoult revealed how Robert Eggers got the craziest thing from the set framed for him as the production wrap gift. However, upon receiving the present, the frame was reportedly broken, which led the actor to get a fix from the local frame shop. Recounting the first encounter with the shopkeeper when the actor asked if he could repair the frame, Hoult recollected the person “didn’t even blink.”

When Hoult returned later on to pick it up from the shop, the actor believes the store owner may have finally “clocked how weird it was” whatever he just framed. While Nosferatu may have some contentions, when the vendor could not resist asking if the frame was for a “collector’s piece,” Hoult did not show them any. Given the eccentric gift from Robert Eggers, this was the most screamingly simple way to get out of the situation without being assumed a freak.
