Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been in the crosshairs of public criticism more times than they can count. Ever since the Sussexes stepped out of the Royal family’s wing, they have been drawing in an influx of problems, tarnishing their reputation. Despite retaining a modest fan base owing to their philanthropy measures, they could not reverse the negative perception held by the majority. The recent revelations have been further adding to their unflattering public image.

The Duke and the Duchess made a plethora of appearances in New York as world leaders during the filming of their six-part Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan. However, the new emails unveiled some shocking behind-the-scenes scoops, putting the Royal couple in an even worse light.

After the $20 million dollar snub with Spotify, the Sussexes could finance their expenses with another multi-million dollar deal with the OTT giant. Little did the Royals know that their hefty collaboration was going to come back and bite them in the rear. The Daily Mail reported some new emails from the Archewell Foundation that have been circulating in the air. As per them, the Duke and the Duchess pitched a list of requests before their arrival at a public school in one of New York’s low-income areas.

The Prince and his spouse requested cushions and new carpets for their filming at Harlem’s PS 123 Mahalia Jackson School. Their team also reached out to the school to arrange an outdoor setting that better fit with the Duchess’ aesthetic. The emails revealed that their PR team went through multiple edits of press releases to ensure a favorable portrayal of the Sussexes in the Netflix docuseries. If all this was not enough, the Duke and the Duchess even went on to sign a “gag order” to prevent the children from making any negative remarks about their visit.

From facing repeated verbal attacks from Kelly Osbourne to taking heat from Spotify executive Bill Simmons, one can say that the Sussexes are not everyone’s favorite. Recently, the PR expert, Coram-James, took a jab at the Duchess for deceiving everyone with her weak excuses of “parental responsibilities”. It is no secret that Markle arrived late to the Invictus Games, three days after its opening. As per the former actress, her duties towards her children became the reason for the delay. However, James refused to buy into it.

As per the PR expert, everything that the Duchess has been portraying was a facade and a ploy to not let the optics reflect the reality. He continued how the Suits star had the whole year to look after her kids but only chose to do it on her husband’s most important day. He also pointed out how Markle has been attending “seemingly less personally significant events this year”, without her children causing delays.
