Zack Snyder had a penchant for dark frames and hence that is what Henry Cavill‘s Superman came to be associated with. That is until DC underwent revamping by James Gunn and Peter Safran. And they wanted to do nothing with Zack Snyder or Henry Cavill or whatever they make of Superman. But following the Snyder wash, the darkness from his movie frames seeped into the future of Superman.

Fans of not just of DC but even those with penny knowledge of the Superhero universe were opposed to the idea of the British actor’s exit. And despite Gunn’s attempt at healing the wounds left by the exit with a ‘we will get you a younger and better Superman’ bandage, the audience was not left very convinced. However, the name of a certain The Bold and the Beautiful actor followed by an image has stirred quite a range of emotions in the otherwise unmoved Superman fandom.

It has been rumored that Pierson Fodé might have just made the cut. “Fodé sent in a self-tape,” that Gunn “liked,” as per Variety. Given the fact that Henry Cavill was the owner of the red cape earlier, the Guardians of the Galaxy director knew not to just toss it to anyone. And in order to avoid any other hate campaigns against him, the director changed the entire portfolio for the new Superman.

The new DC head wanted someone young and compassionate looking. However, they also needed to be a cut above the rest in the sense that they fit the part of a descendant of the Sun God. And while Henry Cavill still comes to mind after reading the requirements, Pierson Fodé does not fall behind either.

James Gunn wants to move ahead with Superman: Legacy so that he has ample time to explore Superman and his character. It was clear when he was looking for a younger actor to take on the role that it was not going to be someone known to the masses. And Fodé fits the bill, as he has mostly had a few stints here and there. He has also starred in a Supergirl episode back in 2020. But more than his acting ventures, if there is one thing that has left the audience gobsmacked is the extent of how much he looks at the part.

When Cavill was cast as Superman, he did not look anything like Christopher Reeve. Thankfully, Gunn is considering a Superman who has leaped out from the same book as Cavill. Fodé’s looks, although very impressive, have had a negative effect on a few.
