Henry Cavill has excelled in every genre that he stepped into and perhaps has even more acting prowess than what meets the eye. Long before dominating the fantasy world with his commanding presence on Netflix’s The Witcher, the 40-year-old had ushered in the superhero genre with 2013’s Man of Steel. Moreover, on the lines of his DC outing, he etched out a unique persona for himself with his fierce take on Superman.

However, if we were to take into account what Cavill’s most highly rated project is, then the aforementioned two stand far behind this 2018 masterclass.

It is no secret that The Witcher season three marked Henry Cavill’s exit. However, along with it, the season finale also marked the show’s lowest-ever ratings which pushed its overall score to sink bullishly low. Meanwhile, Man of Steel had Superman land straight onto critics’ wrath, so its ratings were never in the picture. Thus, the crown jewel of all the British star’s projects is his 2018 collaboration with Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Fallout with a staggering 97% score.

The summer flick rode on high-octane action and featured Cavill wearing an iconic mustache. Moreover, it was the first time that the actor played a negative role. Playing Augustus Walker, Cavill was the subject of the movie’s biggest plot twist when he first joined hands with Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, only to turn against him in the third act. The actor duo’s prowess led the movie to win the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Action Movie. And thus, Cavill laid forth his legacy in the action genre.

Fate conspired harshly when Henry Cavill had to exit The Witcher for multiple reasons, including the expected impending return to DC. However, the Superman actor faced massive blows when his hotly anticipated return to DC went out the window with James Gunn’s announcement of a reboot. As much dismay as it caused to his fandom, the star was back on his feet more so than ever. As of now, Cavill has his feet dipped in multiple projects at various stages of development.

For his 2024 releases, first comes his stint with Dua Lipa in Argylle, which features a very debatable hairstyle. Next on, he stars in the World War 2 spy thriller, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Finally, on the to-be-decided release date projects, Cavill has paired up with his girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso for a live-action adaptation of Warhammer 40K. Following this, he is set to star in a Highlander movie, The Rosie Project, and Squadron 42.
