According to the Daily Mail, a royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, shed some light on Princess Diana and King Charles’ marriage in her new book, My Mother And I. She claimed that the late Princess had once wanted to call off the wedding. The author recalled that on Prince Andrew’s 21st birthday, Lady Spencer had gotten “exhausted” after waiting for her then-fiancé to dance with her.
When he refused, as he was caught up in other royal duties, she had been hurt. After the party, the author claims that the Princess of Wales had no intention of going through with the wedding. However, her father changed her mind. After calming his daughter down, the Earl had even told her that calling off the wedding would be an “act of gross discourtesy.”
While he eventually managed to convince her to see her vow through, Princess Diana was allegedly not the only one with doubts about the marriage.

In the same book, My Mother And I, Ingrid Seward, also gave the world a look at Princess Diana’s relationship with the late Queen Elizabeth. While there has been some debate on whether the Queen cared about Lady Diana Spencer, the author put it to rest by saying that she had found her “enchanting.” However, she had two reservations about her. The first one was whether she could “differentiate between the man and the prince” that her fiancé was.
The second one was that the Queen also believed that “the Spencer girl would be better suited to her younger son, Prince Andrew.” While the royal family has not confirmed nor denied these claims as of yet, there is no way of saying whether it is true or not. However, one thing is for sure. Princess Diana was not only beloved by everyone who met her, but her legacy continues to live on today.
