Not only fans, but it was also celebrities who waited to see their favorites in unique outfits. Will Smith’s daughter and singer Willow Smith was one of them. Just as the event began, she took to Instagram to highlight Byrne’s appearance.

Celebrities style themselves in their best designer outfits. Some even take along their plus-one partner, twinning together. Even the ‘Talking Hands’ singer turned heads at the event but not just because of his attire, but a rather fun prop that he got along with.

What made Willow Smith call David Byrne her MET Gala king?

As the masses pick their favorites and best-dressed costumes, Willow Smith has already chosen her own. The 22-year-old took to Instagram stories and forwarded a photo by MTV of Byrne. “My King,” said the caption with his smiling photo as he held onto the bicycle. The star was dressed in an all-white suit with pants and a blazer by Martin Greenfield Clothiers. He accompanied the interesting look with yellow and blue sneakers. But the highlight was the cycling enthusiast’s cycle, which came with a placard as he proudly posed with it.

Despite having big stardom, cycling remains one of his favorite hobbies. While his cycle did not accompany him at the Oscars, the big noticeable fingers garnered attention as he performed ‘This is a Life’, paying homage to the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once.

There is no saying if his bicycle and sneaker look is in line with the Karl Lagerfeld theme, but it certainly won the hearts of the people.

Smith remained absent from this year’s event

The MET Gala has certainly gotten more exclusive, as promised. Other than fashionistas and A-listers, only celebrities on the trend were invited. Back in 2016, Willow and Jaden Smith become the center of attraction as the siblings twinned for the event. But this year, she remained busy performing her set at the Coachella event. The entire family was missing from the event, although she did not seem to mind.
