Many took the time to de-stress as the pandemic pushed everyone inside their homes and halted nearly everything. But those who did not own businesses that were optimized for a digital world or would cater to the needs of those in quarantine, suffered greatly, both mentally and financially. And looks like being parents to Kate Middleton does not grant you a pass when there is a pandemic and you run a business catering to birthday parties.

Middleton’s mother and father, Carole Middleton and Michael Middleton have long run a business together called ‘Party Pieces’. The Princess of Wales was not the only member of her family whose face was plastered on billboards. Her mother herself created a business at her kitchen table. However, the wonderful era of senior Middleton beaming through business posters has come to an end.

The coronation of King Charles consisted of guests who had draped themselves in millions for the royal occasion. And being the parents of the Princess of Wales, Carole, and Michael Middleton were among them. Kate Middleton’s mother stunned in cobalt blue with exquisites from Garrard Jewelry. But even before fans could find out their net worth, renowned entrepreneur, James Sinclair has purchased their ages-old party business, Party Pieces Holdings as per Sky News.

The sell-off, although saddening, does not come as a great shock because the Middletons were for a long time struggling to bring it back to its earlier glory post-pandemic. However, bringing it back to its $50 million net worth seemed an unattainable task.

Though it was run by Carole Middleton, it was the Princess of Wales who gave her the idea.

Did Kate Middleton help start Party Pieces Holdings?

As the owner, the 68-year-old mother of Kate Middleton often wrote the ‘Party Times’ blog. During one such blog, she revealed how Middleton developed the “first birthday” and “baby category“. And when the Duchess of Cambridge could only find birthday hats to celebrate her fifth birthday, it was then that Carole Middleton decided to take matters into her own hands. She, along with her husbands and kids, grew it to a large extent. However, now they can only pray that James Sinclair handles their baby with care.
