Ever since Universal Pictures' production announced their casting of Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba for the ultra-famous fantasy, fans were dying to see how these performance powerhouses would embody the famous characters. And they did not disappoint. After a blockbuster winter that left fans demanding the sequel as soon as possible, today the movie has dropped its first cinematic poster at CinemaCon, which was first shared by cinePOP on X.
The poster has the leading stars standing in parallel, surrounded by different environments. While Grande's Glinda is dressed like Cinderella, holding a magic stick and wearing a tiara on her head, Erivo's Elphaba is seen in her regular black ensemble with her flying broom and her witchy hat. What elevates the contrast of their looks is that both appear to be standing on top of respective cliffs, and the poster's subtitle says, "You will be changed.”
Its first installment, Wicked, is the adaptation of the 2003 Broadway musical, which, for its movie version, is divided into two sequels. For the upcoming movie, its lead, Ariana Grande, shared her immense admiration some time ago.
Ariana Grande's take on another musical experience with Wicked 2
One of the best parts of the second Wicked movie is that it will feature a big duet between Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Talking to Variety earlier in January, Grande revealed her shooting experience for this song and said that it was unlike anything she had ever experienced. “It was such a long and emotional process. I kind of left my body".

Grande hesitated to watch the final cut on camera, as she feared she was not ready to feel all of it again. While the first poster is out, and the trailer is awaited, fans would have to make do with that only for now, as Wicked: For Good is slated to release a year after its first installment, which is on November 21, 2025.
