New York Mayor Eric Adams called off a meeting with Prince William

Prince William was supposed to sit with the NYC mayor, Eric Adams, on Tuesday afternoon. However, New York’s premier multimedia daily has reported that Adams officially called off the meeting with the UK’s future King. He first quickly scheduled the one-on-one and 30 minutes later, “canceled the appearance with Prince William“. As a result of this, Buckingham’s heir to the throne had to settle for the FDNY commissioner.

Laura Kavanagh was there at a Lower Manhattan firehouse to greet the Prince. Nevertheless, the Prince’s popularity in the Urban US spoke for itself. A sizable crowd of royal enthusiasts and media were left seemingly disappointed after the meeting was called off. However, the city’s interest most likely lies with another royal, as the outlet affirmed.
“If we had to pick one royal to watch Adam’s pal around with, it’d be Prince Harry,” wrote the outlet. It further claimed the termination of the meeting with the Prince of Wales as “no great loss”. Mayor Adams once himself backed the Sussexes at yet another stirring incident that took place months ago.

Back in May, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fell into a “near catastrophic” car chase by paparazzi in NYC. As they returned from an awards ceremony, media persons got down into a relentless pursuit of following the couple. After the NYPD gave its statement, Mayor Adams addressed it as “reckless and irresponsible“ for anyone to chase people in the densely populated city.
Notably, back in the day, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had already rubbed shoulders with the New York authorities in 2021. During their One World Trade Center visit, they posed with the then New York Mayor, Bill de Blasio, and state governor, Kathy Hochul as well.
