Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved away from the royal clan of England, their relationships with the former’s family have progressively gotten worse. Following the move, the couple went on to release a docuseries and a memoir which made any reconciliation between them and the family seem like a far cry. While the coronation did bring Prince Harry back to England, it seemed to be a one-time wonder. Months after attending his father’s coronation on his son’s birthday, the Duke of Sussex has taken a bold step. 

A cold move from Prince Harry might just make matters worse. 

Prince Harry lands another blow to King Charles

On the 14th of November, the crown is set to ring on King Charles’ 75th birthday. Now, it has been reported that Prince Harry was extended an invitation for his father’s birthday celebrations to be held at the Palace as per The Times. According to a royal insider, he has already made up his mind to not attend the get-together. In essence, it can be said that the King’s youngest has outright rejected the peace offering for now.

Evidently, matters have not gotten better in the ongoing feud between the royals so far. If the invite was indeed intended to be a gesture of truce, Prince Harry has declared his refusal to raise the white flag. Maybe this is the consequence of the way he was treated during the coronation. It seems like the King will have to make do with his remaining family in the absence of his estranged son.

This is not the first time that a birthday in their family has stirred up controversy.

The birthday drama of the British royals

Earlier this year, Prince Harry celebrated his 39th birthday on September 15. Well, he was fortunate to spend his birthday with not just his wife but also the large crowd at the Invictus Games that sang him ‘Happy Birthday’. However, there was no such public display of affection from his estranged family. Apparently, King Charles did not make an announcement wishing his son as he had done in the past, according to tradition.

Before his birthday, Markle and the Duke’s daughter., Princess Lilibet’s birthday was also celebrated sans her grandfather. Maybe King Charles was hoping to break the cycle of retaliation with an invite for this year’s festivities held for him. Now, as his father’s birth date nears, it seems unlikely that the Spare author will oblige. It looks like the family’s retaliation saga is going to continue for a while.
