During the premiere of the romance drama, the Set It Up star opened up about his new film to Entertainment Tonight. The video shared on X, formerly Twitter, revealed the actor sharing his insight about the sequel of the 1996 film Twister. “Twisters is wild. It’s a lot, it’s gonna be, and I have seen it, it’s epic,” exclaimed the 35-year-old star.

He also revealed that he would start shooting this film the next morning in Oklahoma City. Also, when the host of the outlet asked if they would bring romance to this action thriller, Powell responded, “We’ll bring the love in the storm, we’ll figure it out”. The first film was a massive success and garnered nearly $500 million at the global box office.

Now, over two decades after its debut, the franchise has returned to wreak havoc on movie theaters with a new storyline and fresh faces. While the details of this sequel remain wrapped, Powell’s romance drama has certainly teased fans enough in recent weeks. In fact, the leading stars of the film announced in a video that their movie will make Christmas feel hot this season.

On Monday, Anyone But You page on Instagram dropped a clip featuring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. It showed the actress leaning toward her on-screen partner for a kiss under the mistletoe but nudges his face with her hand and smiles. “This is going to be the hottest Christmas ever,” read the caption of the post. This video was another tease of the sizzling yet fun chemistry of these two share in the film.

The upcoming drama will hit the theatres in ten days in the United States. As for Powell’s action film Twisters, it will probably make its way to the big screen in the summer of 2024. Lee Isaac Chung, the director of the critically acclaimed film Minari, which received multiple Oscar nominations, will helm this film too. Meanwhile, actors who joined Powell include Kiernan Shipka, Maura Tierney, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Katy M. O’Brian.
