It is right to say that Sydney Sweeney and HBO are a match made in heaven. Whether it was Euphoria or The White Lotus, there has been nothing but praise for Sweeney. Her fans have seen the potential she has and what she can bring to the table. An extraordinary narrative has unfolded for Sweeney alongside a co-star that has a captivating storyline.

Josh Hamilton, popular for movies like American Horror Story and Madam Secretary, is starring with Sweeney in the upcoming movie ‘Reality’. As the world of independent films is suffering tough competition from algorithm-based movies, Hamilton has nothing but praise for the upcoming HBO release.

Hamilton has nothing but love and respect for Reality’s director, Tina Satter. Hamilton told IndieWire during the film’s red carpet premiere how Satter stayed true to the spirit of storytelling with the movie. He described how she just had a transcript with which she decided to deliver a story that makes a ‘statement’ and ‘creates art’. There’s not millions of dollars going into developing and trying to figure out what people want and the algorithm of how to get the most viewers”, shared Hamilton. He also added that to have the movie on HBO was never the plan, but that just happened even when they had an algorithm-free approach.

What caught Hamilton’s attention is that the movie does not follow the algorithm approach and is a raw Indie film in that aspect. He described that in the case of Indie movies, there is always practicality as you are short on funds and budget. This is, in turn, beneficial as actors are always focused and their ‘energy’ is just high up.

What is Sydney Sweeney’s ‘Reality’ about?

Written and directed by Satter, the movie Reality talks about the real life of the NSA Whistleblower Reality Winner (played by Sydney Sweeney). Winner leaked how Russia rigged the 2016 presidential elections that followed FBI interrogations. Satter, being a New York theater artist, first wrote a script for a play named ‘Is This A Room’, based on the real FBI interrogation of Winner, which was later adapted for the movie.

Ever since the trailer of the movie came out, Sweeney fans were in awe. In a Q&A panel at the movie’s premiere, Sweeney described that she was ‘blown away’ when she was told that the dialogues were from the real FBI interrogation. Knowing so, she decided to ‘delve deeper’ into the character’s psyche. Director Satter also shared that the movie is inspired by Reality Winner, who has changed the course of American history.
