Over the weekend, TMZ got hold of a clip showing Kate Middleton and Prince William visiting a business near their Windsor home. Eyewitnesses, according to reports from The Sun, spotted them out and about. However, when TMZ shared the footage of Kate Middleton on Tuesday-  the first sighting of the princess since December, fans immediately convinced themselves that it was fake, including Andy Cohen. Cohen shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, stating, “That ain’t Kate….“.

Despite the raised eyebrows, Charlie Lankston, Associate Editor at DailyMail.com, recently told Access Hollywood why she believes the new video should be seen as a breath of fresh air for anyone worried about the Princess’s whereabouts and well-being. She also insisted the video is legit and not some kind of trickery, brushing off any talk of Kate Middleton having a doppelgänger. While Cohen in a way added to the controversy surrounding Middleton, his attitude towards Markle has been a complete 180. 

There have been many instances when Andy Cohen openly supported Markle through her battles with the media.

Andy Cohen, the US television personality, has rallied behind Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, following allegations that she fabricated several interviews for her defunct Spotify podcast Archetypes. Cohen dismissed the accusations as unsubstantiated and lacking credibility, insisting that the Duchess conducts her interviews. The host of Watch What Happens Live! labeled the rumors as ludicrous, stating, “That’s an insane rumor“. 

He added that his interaction with Meghan Markle on her podcast was “well-informed”. Cohen also expressed his regrets for not inviting the Duchess of Sussex onto his show when the opportunity arose. The host admitted that he should not have declined the chance to interview the former actress. Overall, Andy Cohen has a deep admiration for the Duchess of Sussex.
