Meghan Markle Uses Her Acting Prowess to Brighten up the Children’s Hospital Visit
When Meghan Markle stepped into the royal sphere, she understood it meant bidding farewell to much of her previous life: her own space and her thriving career. Markle waved goodbye to her acting career to immerse herself in the world of philanthropy and advocacy from the moment she said “yes” to Prince Harry. With a reputation for using her platform to amplify the voices of others, she is no stranger to lending a helping hand. However, now it seems like her philanthropy is what is bringing her back to acting.
Recently, the Duchess of Sussex paid a visit to the Children's Hospital, where she used her acting flair to bring some much-needed cheer to young patients.

Meghan Markle dropped by Children's Hospital Los Angeles for their annual fundraiser, the Make March Matter campaign. She surprised the young patients with a special reading of iconic tales under the CHLA's Literally Healing program that promotes literacy. The 42-year-old, with warmth and compassion, brightened up the facility on March 21. Together, they explored the world of storytelling through cherished tales like Rosie the Riveter, Pete the Cat, and I Saw a Cat.
Markle brought the stories to life with her animated readings. She infused each page with voice inflections and gestures that had the children giggling and singing along. The Duchess even transformed into the characters as she read through the patient's favorite books. In some exclusive videos and photos by ET, Markle was seen greeting the children eagerly as they gathered for the interactive reading session. Not only does she make kids happy, but the ex-actress is also deeply invested in ensuring children's safety in the digital sphere.
Meghan Markle has frequently spoken out about the dangers of social media. And to shield children from these risks, earlier this year, the Sussexes brought many parents together to figure out how to keep their kids safe online.

In an important U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing focused on child safety, a united front of parents convened for bipartisan discussions with the Sussexes in February. These were the brave parents who had grappled with the negative impact of online harm. They had either faced the unbearable loss of their children or witnessed their suffering. The Archewell Foundation, co-founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, offered a lifeline to these families.
The foundation has been tirelessly working to establish a support system for parents navigating the traumatic impact of harmful online content on their children. Through a heartfelt statement, the Sussexes voiced their support and lauded the courage of countless parents across the nation whose relentless advocacy efforts brought about the session. And now, through the recent visit with the children, it is abundantly clear that the mother of two is deeply committed to championing the well-being of children.
