Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are out and about conquering the world, whereas their house is vividly on fire. As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex go on mastering the art of winning over the public, their internal ties with their family across the ocean lie dilapidated than ever. While it has been four years since the mutually accepted renunciation, their relationships with the UK sovereigns lie nowhere near a truce, with each day bringing in fresh controversies, disputes, and criticism in bounty. 

In today's episode of controversies surrounding the American Duchess, reports have it that if the royal family were to have them back, they need to have two primary things in check. 

In an interview with The Mirror, frequent royal commentator Tom Quinn expressed how the Duchess has made up her mind to step back into The Firm only if two of her major concerns are looked into. Iterating on Meghan Markle’s alleged conditions, Quinn said, “She's only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential”. 

The Duchess is never going to settle with the relatives of her husband, Tom Quinn added further. Previously residing at the Frogmore Cottage from 2019 to 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle maintained ownership until their infamous eviction from the royal residence last year. Reacting to the same, Prince Harry reportedly felt it as a "slap in the face," according to the author.

The situation has thus severed their ties with the Royal family with not just Markle but Prince Harry, too pressing for the same demands. 

More than the Duchess, Prince Harry is all the more resolute in ensuring the safety of his family of four, going to great lengths to protect them. In a recent interview for ITV's documentary, Tabloids on Trail, the Duke spoke for himself about his determination to safeguard his loved ones. He revealed that he had abandoned the idea of returning to his hometown, fearing that his traumatic past with his mother could repeat itself for his wife and children.

Prince Harry's iron-willed resolve stems from his deep-seated concern for his family's well-being. Now accompanied by his wife, the couple is unwilling to compromise their security, even if it means giving up on a life in the UK. Their priority stays on maintaining a secure home for their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. This decision, however, has made them susceptible to an unhealthy amount of criticism.
