Could Meghan Markle come back to Instagram?“- this question has been floating around among fans, eagerly waiting for the Duchess to make a social media return. For quite some time, people have been nudging her to lean into her influencer vibe, especially given she ran a successful blog earlier. This nudging could come from Meghan Markle’s undeniable influence. Almost everything she promotes flies off the shelves, especially if it is priced just right, and her royal seal of approval can really juice up a brand’s sales.

Now, after four years of staying away from social media, Meghan Markle has decided to dip her toes back in, and the response has been nothing but massive. Within mere minutes of her return, she has already attracted thousands of followers.

Meghan Markle has made an unexpected comeback to Instagram with a new account dedicated to promoting her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. The Instagram bio is simple and to the point- “By Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. Established 2024“. Rumors are flying that this venture might serve as a sequel to her former blog, The Tig. The first Instagram Story on the account saw Markle flipping through a montage of scenes using a retro camera filter, starting with a bunch of white blooms.

It then gave a quick glimpse of Markle whipping up something in the kitchen. Finally, it showed her out in a courtyard while Nancy Wilson’s ‘I Wish You Love’ played softly in the background. While a lot is yet to be discovered, American Riviera Orchard will center on home, garden, food, and overall lifestyle and it marked the Duchess’ first social media post since 2020.

In 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle launched their own social media page, branding themselves as @sussexroyal. However, the Instagram account was short-lived, as the Duke and Duchess stepped back from their royal duties in 2020. Their old @sussexroyal Instagram account is still visible but they have not posted anything since March 31, 2020. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle closed all her personal social media accounts four months before marrying Prince Harry in May 2018.

Markle’s The Tig, a lifestyle and food blog, now serves as a nostalgic touchpoint in her brand journey. This year, however, the couple made Sussex.com, a website that had subtle nods to her previous blog. To actualize Sussex.com, the Sussexes enlisted the expertise of a Canadian digital design agency, a partnership reminiscent of Markle’s pre-duchess days. With these strategic moves from the Californian royals, it is clear that they are now committed to reconstructing their online presence and reconnecting with fans.
