As reported by People, the royal couple visited the school on World Mental Health Day to support an alternative college program. This aimed at helping young black and brown students access tech sector opportunities. In an intimate discussion with students, the Duke emphasized the importance of mutual support and having fun in life. Markle addressed the potential and vulnerability in online spaces for building communities, expressing hope in the capabilities of young minds. The couple’s visit aligned with their Archewell Foundation’s efforts to enhance the online world.

Notably, this is not the only time the royal couple has advocated for mental health. The Sussexes, owing to their own struggles, have consistently spoken out about their own mental health challenges.

During an interview, Markle shared her experience with severe depression during her pregnancy with Prince Archie, including constant thoughts of suicide. She initially hesitated to seek help due to concerns about her husband’s and the royal family’s reactions. However, when she finally reached out to them and the HR department for support, her pleas were reportedly met with indifference, with the royal family suggesting that it would not be good for their image. However, connecting with her husband helped her a lot.

Prince Harry also opened up about his ongoing battle with anxiety, stemming from his mother’s tragic death. He disclosed experiencing panic attacks and severe anxiety, exacerbated by the constant presence of cameras. Initially, he did not know how to deal with his struggles, resorting to drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism. However, therapy eventually provided him with the tools to confront his challenges and heal.
