The Duchess of Sussex was out with her friends, Kadi Lee and Cleo Wade, for lunch when she was spotted without the engagement ring that Prince Harry had proposed to her with through her friend’s Instagram story. And of course, fans could not believe their eyes. After all, it is the very shining piece of diamond that marked Markle’s royal era official. But much like most things Duchess of Sussex, this too is just bad timing.

News of her sans-engagement ring hand spread like wildfire and there was an uproar of a Sussex divorce among netizens. But what netizens failed to see was the ever-assuring wedding band on her finger. These breakup rumors were further debunked as an insider told Page Six that Markle’s ring is “being fixed“.

There are more reasons than their grand marriage, why the engagement ring on Meghan Markle’s finger, more specifically, the absence of it, has all eyes on it.

Why is all attention on the Duchess of Sussex’s engagement ring?

For Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the discovery of the missing ring could not have come at a worse time. The couple has been battling breakup rumors since Spotify broke it off with them. However, the status of their marriage does not have much to do with the attention on the ring.

Back in 2017, when Prince Harry was ready to propose to Meghan Markle, he custom-designed her engagement ring. It had one large diamond from Botswana, a country that is very close to the hearts of the couple. Along with two smaller diamonds from the late Princess Diana’s collection, to ensure that his mom would bear witness to their special day. The ring has a special place in many hearts, not just Meghan Markle’s.
