2023 has been one tough chapter for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. From Spare’s unsparing details causing bombshell retaliations to attending the festive yuletides without the invite from the royal soil, the couple has found comfort in each other amidst the troubling hours. But to make their sail for the next chapter easier, Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, had the best plan up her sleeve.

The kicking motherly instinct has showered in. Ragland, making the best of it, has set foot in the new year to nurture her bond with the Duke and Duchess. But the question is, how?

“A mother is a daughter’s best friend.”. And who better to confide in than to a best friend? Doria Ragland knows this better as she recently shifted to Montecito to help her daughter and son-in-law steer through the “tough times”. According to source claims by Express.co.uk, Markle’s mother has taken residence in the couple’s Montecito mansion’s guest house in California.

The 70-year-old’s move to Montecito has two purposes. Firstly, to back the Sussex couple with her motherly touch during hardships. Secondly, to stay near the family in her aging times and avoid tiresome journeys. The source reportedly said that even though her mum looks “fighting fit”, she gets “tired of the car rides from her home to see her daughter and grandchildren.” So, a third reason for her extended stay is without a doubt, her desire to keep close with her grandkids. 

Doria Ragland’s gesture surely is enough to send people into a meltdown. However, this is not the sole instance of Markle finding contentment in her mother’s arms. 

Back when Meghan Markle found ‘strength’ in her mother

Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry quit as senior royals, their position in the royal household became fragile. The time was especially conflicting for the couple and at the doorway of setbacks and backlashes. During those hours, Doria Ragland stood like a rock, giving “strength” to Markle in Vancouver Island as the Duke was busy in the UK managing the final details of their stepping down as working royals.

An alleged friend of Markle told to People in 2020, how she “gets a lot of her strength from her mother.”. The statement is very believable since Ragland has time and again backed the Duchess during the most alarming events. One of the reasons back then for Ragland’s move was also to stay near Prince Archie. Since the motherly instinct has not changed a bit in the years, there is hope that this time too, the royal couple will pilot through the bad times as they have done before.
