Meghan Markle Invests in Her Colorist’s New Line, While Her Own Is Still Tangled in Paperwork
Meghan Markle, after announcing her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, started sending out jars of jam and packaged bags of dog biscuits to her popular celebrity friends. This included Kris Jenner, Mindy Kaling, and Chrissy Teigen- who reciprocated the gesture by promoting the Duchess’ business with social media shoutouts. The former actress also got Netflix on board for a cooking show, and fans began anticipating Markle's return to the lifestyle arena after several years. However, the brand is still a long way from hitting shelves.
Markle, nonetheless, is keeping her business game strong, with her latest investment being a new line from her celebrity colorist friend.

Kadi Lee has been Meghan Markle’s go-to hair guru ever since she moved to California. As Lee launched her new haircare line, Highbrow Hippie, its potential soon caught Markle's eye and she went on to invest in it. “Kadi has a mastery of hair health, and her Highbrow Hippie collection is a perfect reflection of that,” Markle told InStyle. She added, “I am so proud to invest in her as a friend and as a female founder.”
This is not the first time the Duchess has backed a female-led business. In fact, she has been putting her money in female-run businesses since the 2020 pandemic lockdown and her business portfolio now includes at least five to 10 brands. However, on the flip side, her own lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, is still stuck up in trademark issues with no launch update in sight so far.
Markle’s lifestyle brand is currently dealing with a lot of trademark issues, but there is still one piece of good news to hold on to.
When might American Riviera Orchard finally hit the market?
Last month, sources spilled to the Daily Mail that the US Patents and Trademarks Office issued Notices of Irregularities over Meghan Markle’s American Riviera Orchard’s trademark applications. Now, according to the same outlet, Markle might have run into more trouble with a protest filed by a firm that owns the Royal Riviera trademark- called Harry & David.

It has also been reported that American Riviera Orchard is about to launch early next year, right alongside the Netflix series. And now that we finally have a release schedule for the much-anticipated show, it is looking like Markle’s brand might hit the market at just about the same time. One can only hope the Duchess does not run into any more hiccups before then- but either way, 2025 is shaping up to be a whirlwind year for her with all the new business ventures.
