His Majesty King Charles III may have rightfully ascended the throne, but the Duchess of Sussex raised to the heights of nature! The first weekend of May 2023 apparently marked the much-awaited coronation of the British Monarch. And from the procession to decorations; from vestments to appetizers- everything was nothing but regal. It reflected the pomps and grandeur of the coronation through the royal spectacle rather grandly. However, one person, apart from the US president, who did not attend the historic British ceremony, was the royal family’s very own Meghan Markle.

But she seemed to have a good time back in California. While we do not know yet if she swore allegiance to the oldest British monarch ever to ascend the throne, we know that she had a good time with her kids, mother, and friends. People recently reported that the Duchess of Sussex chose to have a refreshing hike in nature and spend some time with friends Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak near her Montecito home.

Meghan Markle also wore a perfect outfit for the same. A round cowboy hat, a coat wrapped around her waist, and deep brown hiking shoes along with royal blue nylons, made up her hiking fit. It is also reported that she wore Princess Diana’s $22,000 watch and a $495 crystal necklace on the hike.

Prince Harry, on the other hand, prepared to return home after formally attending the royal ceremony for a short while. News also has it that the Duke of Sussex truly acquired the manners of an honorable guest and did not share even a word with his estranged father or brother.

Here’s why Meghan Markle did not attend the coronation

Buckingham Palace had announced back in April that Prince Harry will be attending the coronation alone while vaguely citing the reasons. However, a palace insider had previously reflected that following the media backlash Markle faced at Late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, and everything that unfolded since then, nothing is smooth between the two.

Ever since the royal couple stepped down as the serving royals, they also swore not to take a penny from the palace and are burning the candles at both ends to make their own fortune. So amongst everything that is going on, and the latest lawsuit, the coronation weekend seems to have been a relaxing time for the Duchess.
