Meghan Markle’s Director Steals a Moment With “sweet” Prince Harry at the Aviation Awards Reminiscing the 2006 Movie
This year, Prince Harry began with a starry shower of honor at the Aviation Awards in Beverly Hills. At the 21st Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards, the Prince arrived suited in a tuxedo but without his better half, Meghan Markle. Although his recognition for his career in the British Army came with the absence of Markle, there was enough to remind him of her, thanks to her acquaintances in Tinseltown. The Duke met with Markle’s director from a 2006 flick.
Sharing a candid conversation with the Duke, the filmmaker made a heartfelt post on his social to highlight the moments from the Aviation Awards while speaking of the movie.

Meghan Markle is a veteran runner in the world of cinema. Therefore, even without her attendance at the awards, Mathew Cole Weiss came to Prince Harry as a reminder of Markle’s triumph in Deceit on the very night when he was bagging a title for his achievements. Weiss shared a thread on his X (formerly Twitter) handle to describe the Duke as “super sweet.”. Furthermore, he also took a moment of honor to learn that the Prince “knew of the movie I directed starring Meghan!”.
Weiss continued to share his excitement as he informed that the Duke “watched it before”. While it would be no shocker that the Duke was well-versed in Meghan Markle’s movies, the response was yet the highlight of the evening for the creator. And the same is also visible from his own showcasing of the same on his social media.
While this could have been very well the highlight of the show, Prince Harry warmed the audience with yet another light-hearted moment that he shared with John Travolta.
Prince Harry gets cheeky with John Travolta
This year’s Aviation Awards’ host, John Travolta, also had a history with Prince Harry. And at the event, it seemed like history may have repeated itself more than once. While receiving the accolade of the night from Travolta, the Duke had a cheeky response to the host’s opening lines reminding him of the dance he had with Princess Diana in 1985. In his reply, the Prince said, “Don’t go running away” while referencing Travolta’s “storybook moment”.

The Duke further reminded him how “I was one year old when you danced with my mom.”. But looking back at it, Travolta also lightened the mood saying “But look at us now, it’s great!” Adding to it, he said, that even though back then they might have missed the chance to “dance together”, with Prince Harry receiving the award the duo will, “fly together”. And from the looks of Markle’s director’s feed, the flight might include Mathew Cole Weiss as well.
