Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Website Breaks Their Deal With the Late Queen Elizabeth
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently found themselves in the light of criticism with the launch of a new website. Last year, the Sussexes lost their HRH titles on the official site of the royal family. Not just that, Prince Harry’s profile found itself in the lower tiers of the list, falling below profiles of other working members within the royal family. However, just months after the snub, Prince Harry and Markle relaunched their website with their royal titles, allegedly going against an agreement they had with the late Queen.
The Sussexs, before making their infamous royal exit, entered an agreement with Queen Elizabeth II. Regrettably, they fell short of honoring it when they launched their new website. Here’s how.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s website, Sussex.com, went live on Monday evening. However, what drew in controversy was the description on the homepage, which read, “The office of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex“. They also flaunted Markle’s coat of arms and Prince Harry’s crest on their new website. Many royal aficionados deemed this as a breach of their promise of not using their royal status for commercial gain, that they made to Queen Elizabeth. However, not everyone felt that way, as per a recent report from The Daily Mail.
The report also brought to light some favorable opinions among royal fans who claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and there is no debate about it. “It is their surname and family name“, and there is no harm in using them officially. However, Buckingham Palace has maintained its silence about the matter as they are preoccupied with “other things“, as per insiders. Amidst this backlash, Markle inadvertently sparked another controversy while promoting the relaunch of her podcast.
A piece of accessory that Markle opted to wear for the promotions landed her in trouble with the royal family’s supporters.

Meghan Markle recently relaunched her podcast after the end of her Archetypes podcast in 2023. She signed a deal with Lemonada Media to discuss various social issues. While promoting the new project, Markle wore a piece of accessory from Prince Diana’s collection. She adorned herself with a $17,800 watch of the late Princesss’. This further led people to assume that the Duchess has been trying to assert her royal stature, despite not being a working royal anymore.
The $17,800 gold Cartier watch has significant historical importance within the royal family. Princess Diana wore the watch on different occasions, including her visit to a Hindu Temple in 1997. While some thought this to be a strategic move from the Duchess, others found it a heartfelt tribute to the late Princess Diana.
