According to the latest report by the New York Post, King Charles' former personal butler, Grant Harrold, revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent home purchase in Portugal may be due to disappointment with life in the US. Apparently, life in the US was not “what they thought it would be," Harrold stated, suggesting the couple's American experience fell short of expectations.
Harrold speculated that this dissatisfaction might prompt the pair to reconnect with the UK. Portugal's appeal, he noted, lies in its neutrality, allowing royals to maintain a low profile. Historically, members of the royal family have established residences abroad, making Portugal a logical choice. Close cousin, Princess Eugenie, who remained in touch with the royals for a while following their UK fallout, also shares the same space.
Running parallel to the claims of the palace insider, a recent survey, however too had spoken of their trouble in the US.

According to statistics reported in October, Meghan Markle's popularity took a hit in the third quarter of 2023. Her approval rating dropped seven points, with 32% expressing a positive opinion and 22% holding a negative view. This decline resulted in a net approval rating of +10, down from +17 in the second quarter. Prince Harry's popularity, however, remained steady, with a net approval rating of +24.
Despite this decline, the couple's family remains beloved. In a recent survey, their firstborn, Prince Archie, claimed the spot of Britain's favorite. Despite his parents’ face public opinion, the American royal sweetheart continues to captivate hearts worldwide. The contrast between the couple's diminishing popularity and Prince Archie's rising appeal also served as proof of the changing public perception surrounding the royal family.
