Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been on the public’s radar ever since their dating rumors began to circulate on the internet. While many supported the adorable couple in town, their union became a source of contention among a few conservative-minded people. The coming together of two individuals from different threads of human tapestry fueled opposing viewpoints among fans. Many people would think that the attack on the Sussexes started after the string of tell-all interviews following the infamous Megxit. 

However, as per a report, they have been the subject of scrutiny since the very next day of their wedding. Even one of the Prince’s oldest school friends threw shade on the Sussexes following their lavish evening wedding reception.

Five years back, the star-studded wedding of the Sussexes had everyone’s attention. Along with celebrities, the couple also made room for their old friends at the wedding. However, some of the non-celebrity guests failed to make the cut for the evening bash following the church ceremony, including Tom Inskip. In the book Finding Freedom, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand shared how this pushed Inskip to make a “cutting comment” about the Sussexes the next morning saying, “Meghan has changed Harry too much”. 

Following the church service, the Sussexes threw a fancy reception party, hosted by then-Prince Charles. The guest list for the party was cut, allowing just 200 of their friends to have a blast into the early hours. Not receiving an invitation to the evening bash, Inskip questioned the relationship between the Duke and the Duchess. Some old friends even went on to say that the guest list for the evening party was the Sussexes’ way of making their preferences clear for the future. 

While Prince Harry’s old friend may not have been pleased, his grandmother had always been supportive of Markle. The late Queen Elizabeth even made an unprecedented offer to the Californian native after she left her acting career behind to join the Royals.

Despite having conflicts in her royal years, Markle had always been very fond of the late Queen and was deeply affected by her demise. Looking at the heartfelt pictures, it becomes very apparent that both the Duchess and the Queen had a respectful relationship with each other. After Markle stepped into the Royal household, the late monarch made an offer to the Suits star to ensure that she was happy and content in the Royal family. 

As per Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, the late Queen offered Markle to continue her acting career after marriage. However, the former actress declined the offer as she wanted to focus on her new life. Markle even addressed this subject in her engagement interview, saying, “I don’t see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change”.
