Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step back from senior royal responsibilities after spending a considerable time in their lavish Nottingham and Frogmore cottages. They also articulated their plan to pursue financial independence and divide their time between the UK and North America. Following a brief stay at Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills compound, the Duke and Duchess acquired their current home in Montecito, the Château of Riven Rock, for $14.65 million in July 2020. However, to document this journey, they chose a different mansion just a short stroll away.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle filmed Netflix’s Harry & Meghan in a $33.5 Million mansion, which has recently popped up in the most-read Listing of the Day of 2023.

The residence, originally listed for $33.5 million, is now off the market. However, it still managed to make it to the list of the most-read Listing of the Day of 2023. This luxurious Mediterranean-style estate, located in Montecito, California, served as the picturesque backdrop for the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. Nestled on a 2-acre parcel just minutes from the couple’s Montecito residence, the property offered private, lush grounds and unobstructed mountain and ocean views.

This property hit the market at the beginning of the year. The six-part Harry & Meghan docuseries traced the couple’s journey from the days of their courtship to their well-documented departure from the royal family. While this Montecito mansion was just a part of the setting in the Sussexes’ contentious docuseries, they have plans to construct a residence just as luxurious.

The search continues for the perfect home for the Sussexes. Last month, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were exploring a 6-acre estate in Malibu, Los Angeles. A close insider revealed to TMZ that the couple spent their holiday weekend exploring an $8 million piece of land in the city. The piece of land that they have been eyeing already featured a large guardhouse and a pool. It also boasted a groundwork for the foundation of a 10,000-square-foot main residence.

Tucked away in a private locale, the property has received the green light on house plans from the Sussexes. The construction crew is also reportedly ready and has been waiting for approval. Should Meghan Markle and Prince Harry choose to move forward, the construction cost alone is estimated at $10 million. Luckily, finances are not a worry for the Sussexes, given their upcoming exciting projects that could potentially fund this ambitious housing plan.
