Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no strangers to the Canadian soil. Having been forever inclined to active charity and sustainability, their takeups with the Invictus Games have often landed the pair in the Maple Leaf nation. Despite the recent controversies over their jet trip to Canada for the three-day Invictus Games Whistler, a row of unseen pictures have surged in from the couple’s getaway, making it clear that they are delving into the cause of the visit rather than unprecedented backlash.

The pictures did not only record the glistening moments of the pair’s memorable visit but also saw some high-profile entities backing the cause.

In a recent interview with People, the Sussex pair shared their experience after the three-day Invictus Games Whistler 2025’s One Year to Go celebration. Deeply moved by the grand hosting of the Four First Nations, the couple gathered with the Invictus coaches, competitors, and families to celebrate the mark. The couple shared an exclusive picture from the Friday dinner at the Vancouver Convention Centre with the publication while adding with enthusiasm that they would be “counting days” till their return.

The gala event witnessed the Prince donning a dark tuxedo as he exchanged a smile with his beau, Markle, who wore an olive green gown by Greta Constantine. The event recorded attendees from the Four Host First Nations and Invictus Games Foundation and sponsors. Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato were also in attendance at the party. The Duke and the Duchess were honored with gifts made by Salish natives during the event, which chronicled a successful night.

The thing about the Sussex pair that often garners praise is their active advocacy for charity and sustainability. However, it is this trait that even more frequently puts the couple at the edge of the gun. Hence, last week when the pair set off on their jet for two back-to-back trips to Canada in their Bombardier 605, it took little time for people worldwide to get back at them.

The reason for this is the wide assumption for the Duke and the Duchess making an about-turn on their commitments to protect the environment. The first two-hour flight to Vancouver connected to the next flight to Victoria, with only 39 minutes of stay in between. Oli London wrote on X(formerly Twitter) how the trip allegedly led to approximately 4 tonnes of CO2 emission. While that trip accounted for setbacks of many kinds, the same was far from true for their One Year to Go celebration.
