As regal as the titles and state of affairs of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may be, their business acumen as a royal duo is equally majestic. Having bid their farewell to British soil with their eyes for the States, the royal couple relocated in 2020. However, their recent take-ups suggest that they might be scrutinizing the UK terrain since they have hired a PR expert trained in the English grounds for a forthcoming entrepreneurial initiative.

Considering how this is the first time Markle and the Prince have felt the need for a UK-based PR, what could be the potential reason behind this decision?

In recent times, the Sussex couple have been moving mountains in order to go head-on with their business ventures. Hence, after rebranding their website and redistributing the Archetypes podcast on all streaming platforms, The Telegraph has reported that the pair has hired a UK-based PR to supposedly handle the UK and European media. Further, the team responsible for the UK-based PR is to report back to the communications team in management in the US. The aim of this hiring is to oversee and administer the international relations of the couple in both professional and personal realms.

This will also provide the couple a hand to lookout for their independent ventures and their ever-increasing workloads. The new PR agent will be joining the team reportedly ahead of the launch of Markle’s new commercial venture. This initiative was in anticipation of launching last fall and has been a label for a wellness and lifestyle brand. Speculations were rampant that this venture could be a version of Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow’s multimillion-dollar business brand. However, sources also reveal that such might not be the case.

While their dedication to look out for a UK-based PR makes it look like that the couple are investing greatly in the venture, it also makes one ponder the reason behind the delay.

Why was the initial launch of Meghan Markle’s initiative delayed?

The Sussex pair right now have been doing the needful to not let slip any requirements to successfully launch a proper brand, but before this, the venture has already been held off once. In 2023, the rumor mills began swinging heavily to cue at the relaunch of Markle’s The Tig. Unfortunately, the relaunch did not happen as the brand evolved and took “different shapes”. The Tig was previously active for three years but took a backseat in 2017. It further took the resemblance of being the commercial rival of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.

Yet, now, the aides have insisted that such is not the case. More precisely, they have also directed the venture to be greatly personal and “genuine to who she is”. And unlike the Spotify or Netflix deal, the Sussexes plan to expand the brand over time with plans for a longer term initiative. While a lot of that would depend on the success ratings of the venture, however knowing the royal couple and their regal ambitions, the day of victory does not look as far.
