Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have left the royal frontiers four years ago, but the regal hangover never runs out of style. Having been dented with allegations that raise eyebrows over their presumed pseudo-royal tours, the Sussexes have fallen out of favor in the eyes of the royal front time and again. But with their unfettered aura and trailblazing attitude, one thing that did not change was how they never slowed down. However, even in the wake of their new approaches, some actions remind fans of their royal roots, like their latest briefing to a newly appointed CEO on how to address the Sussexes.

While their Stateside relocation has American nods, the Sussexes’ latest act translates aristocratic essentials 101.

Scott Moore, the new CEO of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, recently revealed to Daily Mail the advice he got regarding how to address Meghan Markle and the Prince. “I did make sure to ask how I should be addressing them when they get here,” Moore shared with the outlet before letting in on the briefing that a simple “Ma’am is fine” for the Duchess. Meanwhile, he was told to resort to “Sir” to address the Duke of Sussex.

Traditionally, people address male members of the Royal Family as Your Royal Highness followed by “Sir” whereas they greet females with Your Royal Highness and “Ma’am” just after. However, since Markle and the Prince lost their HRH titles after they decided to step back as working royals in 2020, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex titles were the only ones they took pride in. This eases things for those less acquainted with royal etiquettes but concerns are flying out for different reasons.

During a tourism conference in Edinburgh in 2020, Prince Harry insisted on something that stands in complete opposition to how he and Meghan Markle currently prefer to be addressed, as was revealed by Scott Moore. The Prince was speaking at the Travalyst event at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre where ahead of his speech, event host Ayesha Hazarika told the gathering, “He’s made it clear that we all are just to call him Harry.”

Hazarika, the former labor adviser and broadcaster, even introduced the Duke on stage with just his first name after he advised the same. Although the royal fans are aware of his recent longing for home, this new revelation makes one storm their brain cells whether this fresh format of emphasis on addressing him and Markle translates to his wish to go back to the old ways.
