Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Failed to Bring Their Children During Queen’s Demise for Some Palace Reasons
In the last few years, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have often had their eyes on the peaks and valleys of life. From quitting as working royals to transatlantic relocation to controversial car chases to fumbling royal titles of their children, the Sussex couple have been doing rounds of the carousel of destiny. While conflicts have been the pair’s close allies for some time now, one such incident concerning the two that raised many eyebrows was their failure to bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK after the Queen’s departure.
Although the Duke and the Duchess have faced criticism for this decision earlier, recent reports suggest security concerns following recent developments in a police protection case.

Only recently, Prince Harry lost the ruling on the long-engaging police protection case, marking his verdict to appeal the decision. While security reasons back on royal soil have been greatly important, this recent ruling sheds light on one such event, his and Markle’s children’s absence during the Queen’s departure, citing similar security concerns. In the 51-page ruling report, there are details of several events including the couple’s initial decision to bring their kids to the UK but failing to do so due to RAVEC’s judgement.
RAVEC is the committee that coordinates security between the royal household, the Metropolitan Police, and the Home Office. On the 24th page of the ruling, the document mentions the notifications to the Home Office regarding Markle and the kid’s visits between September 2nd to 11th. After RAVEC met to decide the security concerns, an outline of their judgment was sent to the Private Secretary of the Sovereign. Close on heels, a response from the couple’s team read how the “security arrangements” were “plainly adequate”.
While security reasons have always been the nook of the royal couple’s problems, it is also one of the reasons that led to their relocation.

Earlier in December 2023, the Prince appeared before the court of law in a three-day hearing scheduled in London. Pressing hard on the risk factors of living in the UK with their children, the Duke stood firm for their relocation due to a safer environment. For the Duke, his children’s safety was of great importance, and hence, his decision to fight the RAVEC decision.
Prince Harry’s legal team was vehemently opposed to the RAVEC’s decision that revoked his police protection in the UK. People reported how the committee was stringent on the refusal despite the Prince’s mention of bearing the costs. While the ruling report clears out much ado about these controversial legal face-offs, it also highlights the reasons behind the royal couple’s subconscious unrest regarding their children’s safety.
