Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Hollywood career is currently standing on very thin ice. The Duke and Duchess had big hopes for a 2024 redemption, with multiple new projects, business ventures, and philanthropic efforts all lined up. But so far, things have not quite gone as planned. Most of their ventures this year have been met with a meh reception, and some did not even take off. The only thing growing at the moment for them is the never-ending controversy, criticism, and scrutiny.

Kinsey Schofield, a royal commentator and podcast host thinks Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a huge mistake by distancing themselves from the royal family and alienating their audience. During an episode of Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, she said, “They’ve made so many wrong moves that I don’t think they’re taken seriously anymore.” Schofield also mentioned in an interview with Talk TV that she has “never seen a more blissfully unaware couple.” She also criticized the couple’s latest Netflix project, Polo, which turned out to be another dud.
Schofield pointed out how little screen time Prince Harry actually had in the docuseries, even though Polo was marketed as being his project to begin with. She was also surprised to see Markle’s name in the credits, since the show was originally thought to be all about her husband. And now, another royal expert has added their voice to the growing list of concerns about the Sussexes, especially because of the Polo show.
The expert claimed that the Polo series could possibly end their partnership with Netflix and killing any chances for a renewal of their deal.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry delivered yet another flop
The Polo series dropped on Netflix on December 8, and to put it mildly, the reception has been pretty underwhelming. Brand and culture expert Nick Ede recently told the Daily Mail that Polo could very well be the “nail in the coffin” for the Sussexes’ Netflix future. He also pointed out that with so many other fresh releases on the streaming giant- especially all the holiday movies- Polo might just get lost in the shuffle.

Now, the Sussexes have one last shot to show Netflix that they are still worth the investment- and that is with Meghan Markle’s upcoming culinary show. The potential for the show to do well is quite high, mainly because it would mark the Duchess’ return to the lifestyle space after all these years. And if it takes off, the estranged royal couple might just be able to give their Hollywood careers a much-needed boost.
