Meghan Markle spent the early years of her life advocating for change while later transcending into the struggles of being a young actor in Hollywood. Throughout all of it, the now Duchess of Sussex kept taking up jobs in order to make a living. This is why her shift from being an actress in the US to royalty in England did not come easy for her. 

With revelations about her, not knowing if she had to curtsy to the queen, already earning a face palm from fans around the world, another revelation about Meghan Markle and her preconception about the royal life is sending shockwaves.

Having been an actress in the United States and doing well for herself owing to the success of Suits, Meghan Markle saw the world through her rose-tinted Hollywood glasses where there was a pay for every action and cut. Therefore, as per Valentine Lowe's Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, Markle was taken aback when she found out that the fan-meets-esque royal walkouts came without compensation.

For the Duchess of Sussex, whose hard work was rewarded with pennies, or had been until she joined the royal family, the entire ordeal, although brought her attention that she reveled in, felt 'pointless'. According to the author, Markle did not see the point in walking up and greeting strangers with a smile while receiving no pay for it.

While this ideology speaks in great lengths about Markle's Hollywood roots, it is a surprise that after making her exit she did not return to the land of stars.

The Duchess of Sussex was in the midst of filming the show that essentially catapulted her to fame. However, it seems that her understanding of the royal world was not that lackluster after all, because the former actress did understand that managing an acting career while being a full-time royal was almost impossible. However, she did surprise everyone when she chose to go the other way, despite having retired as a full-time royal. This move has been attributed as media savvy by many.

The former actress' decision to not walk back on the road that brought her there was seen as her determination to move ahead and do greater things such as build a lifestyle brand. Had Markle made an acting comeback, while it may have been blockbuster, it would have also not come without extreme backlash given that a major reason behind Megxit as given by the Sussexes was privacy.
