In February this year, Henry Cavill returned to the big screens with Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle. Despite ramped-up promotions and a thoroughly teased storyline, the movie failed to make an impact as expected. However, the Dua Lipa starrer has now set its eyes on a digital release. It will first land straight on the digital platform where viewers can take a better call on the critical aspects of the film as well as its viewability.

After marking the end of its theatrical run, the movie’s digital release stays rather imminent and just around the 60-day window.

Released in the US on February 2, Argylle had Henry Cavill as the titular lead of Agent Argylle, whereas Bryce Dallas Howard played the reclusive author, Elly Conway. The Apple original movie will now drop digitally to stream on Apple TV+ on April 12. Made on a budget of $200 million, the movie failed to meet the same amassing close to $18 million in the US and $96.1 million at the global box office.

The main premise of the flick followed the character of Elly Conway as the characters she scripted for a fictional book suddenly appeared to be real and all around her. Sooner than later, the lines between reality and fiction blurred even as the antagonist entity, The Division, run by Bryan Cranston’s Ritter stood hell-bent on having the author finish the remaining chapters of her book for its sinister purposes in a story that boasted itself of being full of twists.

In his decades of acting, Henry Cavill has never played a character that comes off as unhinged as his role of Major Gus March-Phillipps. The 40-year-old actor will play the lead officer of the fictionalized version of the real-life Special Operations Executive from the Second World War. Sporting a rugged beard and twirly mustache, his first look in the trailer sent enough anticipation to make fans long for a release.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will drop on April 19, 2024, with early screenings starting from April 13. With promotional and clips dropping out and building the hype in full swing, Henry Cavill has also extended his arms outward as rumors flew in of his incoming role as a Wolverine variant in MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
