Marvel’s ‘NOVA’ Series Leaves Fans More Confused Than Happy, as Latest Rumors Put MCU Future in the Dark

Since the translation of comic books into multi-million dollar franchises, audiences have known to pit DC against the MCU or vice versa. The two superhero universes, although different if you ask a fanatic, on paper revolve around the same stories of extraordinary strength and courage. Profiting off of these intergalactic battles, both Marvel and DC have amassed a huge fortune. However, it seems that both have found themselves in a lull so dire that they have agreed on sharing their stars or so it seems, by Xolo Maridueña's casting in the NOVA series.

As DC continues revamping under James Gunn and Marvel moves forward to a new phase with a new set of heroes and villains, the faith of the superhero universes, no matter how hard fans try to decipher, remains in the dark. This remains especially true for Marvel, who, with the alleged casting of Xolo Maridueña as Nova, has combined the multiverse in the most confusing manner possible, as Maridueña is already Blue Beetle in DC.

Xolo Maridueña, having just suited up as DC's Blue Beetle, is now poised to glide into Marvel's cosmos as Nova. Once having had a clear divide with only a few of the big-name superheroes managing to sail on both ships, fans are confused as to why Maridueña has been chosen as Marvel's Nova. While the lack of fresh faces could be a viable explanation, given the long audition lines, it probably does not stand true, resorting fans to think if one of these days they will see Superman moonlighting as a part-time Avenger.

Fans confused about DC's Blue Beetle Xolo Maridueña becoming Marvel's Nova

What once stood as a testament to its cosmological name, Marvel, has been dealing with more misses than hits recently. While Deadpool & Wolverine did reach for the stars with its box office collection, the future of MCU remains as confusing as ever. And with Marvel stooping down to renewing castings, both in the case of Robert Downey Jr. and Xolo Maridueña, fans are feeling all sorts of ways but not good.

The casting of Xolo Maridueña had fans screaming the iconic line from Deadpool & Wolverine where Deadpool ensures Cavill-rine that they will "treat him better" than, well, you know who.

While a few fans accepted that he was the perfect casting for Sam Alexander, others questioned how this was going to work with him playing Blue Beetle, as the character has famously survived into the DCU. Marvel's alleged casting of Xolo Maridueña has put not only its but also DCU's future in turmoil as fans started questioning if Blue Beetle had gotten bodied, but what is a superhero universe without a little bit of chaos?
