Mark Hamill Once Gave the ‘most misguided’ Advice to the Rising Star Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Schwarzenegger may now be a household name and an inspiration for many, but the 75-year-old veteran actor once was just an amateur. And he was perhaps seeking advice from the already successful stars at the time. But as they say, sometimes following your intuition may lead you to the greatest success stories; Schwarzenegger did the same and is now a celebrated name amongst his peers.
Back in 2018, the Star Wars actor, Mark Hamill apparently revealed that the then-newbie actor apparently asked him for some advice. And although he did the favor, he provided some seemingly misguided input. Hamill, per his tweet, asked Schwarzenegger “to lose his accent for a wider range of roles & to change his last name since no one could pronounce it.” Notably, he then added that the Austrian actor did exactly the opposite and “became the biggest star EVER.”

Turns out, Schwarzenegger, by not following this piece of advice did not only become an A-lister but has many other credits under his belt. While he already was a 7-time Mr. Olympia title winner when he entered the glamorous doors of Hollywood; the 75-year-old did not stop there. From the fortune Schwarzenegger earned from his successful bodybuilding and acting career, he also became a filmmaker, a businessman, and a beloved politician.
The Terminator star served as the governor of California from 2003 to 2011. Times New Magazine also listed him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world both in 2004 and 2007. Even after 7-plus decades of his life, he does not stop acing in his career.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has rightfully preserved both his accent and his title, is once again back in the game. (Well, he was never truly gone in the first place). Almost after four years of hiatus, the veteran action hero is reportedly back with some jaw-dropping car crashes, fistfights, and gunshots in Scott Waugh’s big-budget project, Breakout. The movie will reportedly see him taking the central stage as the lead, Terry Reynolds.

The movie reportedly will release before his Netflix debut in the show, Fubar. Perhaps rightly said, “heroes don’t retire, they reload.” Furthermore, news also has it that the bankable action hero will also star alongside Jason Momoa in a double action gig. And the credit goes to his thick Austrian accent. So, be ready for some old-school action.
What do you think would have happened if Schwarzenegger has listened to Hamill?
