It is unclear how big of a bag Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the royal family with, but it may not last long if their multi-million dollar deals follow Spotify. The streamer was among the first to boast of getting the Sussexes on the table. However, with time, they seemed to have become a burden on the said table as the deal came to an end. Spotify may not burn that big of a hole in their pocket unless a domino effect follows it.

The statement by Sussex’s spokesperson said that they have “mutually” ended the contract. But it seems like a jarring contrast to the information that has been unveiled. And while Spotify is just one among the many, it has definitely jolted them awake of the difficulties of the post-royal path.

It is the Sussexes’ lack of productivity that could only churn thirteen episodes for the Archetypes podcast that pushed Spotify to end its contract with the Archetypes owner. And as per PR Expert Edward Coram James’ statement to Express “[Harry and Meghan] cannot afford another dud or cancellation.”

The elephant in the room following the multi-million dollar termination rests between the $100 deal that ties Netflix and the Sussexes. According to the PR Expert, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle need to prove with the deals that still remain their credibility as partners. This means that not only do the former royals have to be consistent in their production, but also outstanding.

If another one of their deals follows Spotify, and God forbid it be Netflix, it will be a precedent of the couple not mending their ways. And while this will not leave them destitute, it would bring their value down on many levels. But one wonders after the recent chatter about Meghan Markle’s collaboration with Dior, if more deals are coming their way.

Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get new deals post-Spotify debacle?

Spotify cutting ties with the couple has made a lot of noise. But neither Spotify nor any other major label can cause them to crash so hard that they find themselves on all fours. This is because being a former senior royal comes with its perks. And at the end of the day, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle itself are the money-making factors.

Archetypes winning several awards despite Markle only bringing herself to do thirteen episodes is a testament to the same. Therefore, the Sussexes will continue to get offered newer deals, but if the Spotify breakup does not jolt them awake, they may soon lose their millionaire status.
