Lipstick on Nose, Cillian Murphy Comes Out on Top at Golden Globes to Bag His First Major Award for ‘Oppenheimer’
After the tedious predictions and projections, it looks like the father of the atomic bomb has finally had the last laugh with Christopher Nolan’s brainchild, Oppenheimer. And the leading showrunner, Cillian Murphy, could not have been more grateful receiving the award for Best Actor in the Drama category for the 81st Golden Globe Awards. Looking at all the blushes, Murphy also had the sweetest words after receiving the honor.

As Murphy took the stage to take home the title of his relentless hard work, he had a quirky question for the audience. The actor asked, “Oh boy! The first question- do I have lipstick all over my nose?”. When the audience erupted in a laughter sequence, Murphy added, “I’m just gonna leave it.”. While that can be left as it is, the frenzy henceforth for his win will be rather, difficult to content for sure.
The predictions for the 2024 Golden Globe Award have fallen right on the spot for this category. Being up against the magnificence of Bradley Cooper’s Maestro and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, there is no doubt that Cillian Murphy has outdone everyone. But the warfare of cinema is far from over since the season of awards has only begun.
Moreover, Murphy was not the only one to shine as brightly for the red carpet event as another well-known actor also received an honor for Oppenheimer at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.
Oppenheimer bags another Golden Globe Award for this category
The atomic showdown has come forward in the award season with a clean sweep in the best of ways. Running fast on the honorary titles, Robert Downey Jr. won the category of Best Supporting Actor in Motion Picture for Oppenheimer. The Iron Man proudly took his third Golden Globe this year and let the sun beam brighter on Christopher Nolan’s brainchild.

Furthermore, he gave a heartwarming speech extending his gratefulness with, obviously, his classic touch of humor. Oppenheimer also won five of the eight nominations, including Nolan’s triumph for Best Director and the flick’s credits for Best Score and Best Film (Drama). Given that the year commenced with an elaborate winning chart for Oppenheimer, it makes one wonder what this year’s Oscar holds for the same.
