It is also often a misconception that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, rose to fame only after she won the royal title in the year 2018. However, that is far away from the truth as Markle has already become a household name by the time she tied the knot. Not to mention her breakout Netflix drama that has returned to the host once again these days. Now, although Markle loved the cameras, her life post-marriage did not permit her to invest in film and television anymore. She washed her hands off her swiftly rising career as an actress for abiding by the royal protocols. But life after it took away Markle’s most beloved interests of all time. 

Last year, the Duchess sat for an in-depth conversation with the Variety team for its cover story. The former American mannequin did open up on a lot of matters. The interview, in fact, breached headlines for being one of her first public appearances ever since the death of the Queen. In the same session, Markle was asked about her favorite rom-com and favorites in the industry. However, although she had her answers, her instant reply was she did not have the time to take delight in any of them. 

The mother of two revealed that all her work obligations and personal commitments to the family do not spare her much time for television entertainment. Although estranged, the more or less remnant of the royal duties, parenting two toddlers, and focusing on their various philanthropic projects has made it all the more difficult for the Duchess. Adding to it was Archetypes, the backbone of the Sussex endeavors that required plenty of Markle’s time. 

However, she has not been able to move on from her timeless favorites.

The choice of the Duchess vividly indicated her love for classic cinema over the years. She had a lot to enlist. But her number one flick in the target genre was When Harry Met Sally. Before enlisting a few old-fashioned hits, Markle expressed her love for Julia Roberts. 

Anything that has Julia Roberts in it undoubtedly becomes a favorite for the Duchess. “But you put Julia Roberts in anything, and I’m going to be a fan of those too, ” revealed Markle. Before moving on to the next, she expressed how all she “missed was just a really good laugh. I just want a good old-fashioned rom-com!” she added.
